Summer/Fall Art Shows

I just received great news!. I have been accepted into Art in The Barn art show in Barrington, IL. The date of the show is Sept 24th and 25th.
I also received news I am on the wait list for the Columbus Artfest in Columbus, IN. That show is August 27th.

Diva Challenge #23

This week's challenge is "String Theory". Laura provided a string and everyone designs their zentangle. I chose to roll the icosahedron and use that tangle. The tangles used are florz, scoodle, flux, fescu, crescent moon, keeko, and mist. I really enjoyed this one because I tend to draw similar strings. Have fun with this one! 

Diva Challenge #22

I've been away from the Diva Challenge for a few weeks. I was preparing for an art show. So I'm back and what a great week to return. This weeks challenge is "A Little Help from My Friend". My "friend" who drew my strings was my youngest daughter. I taught her to tangle for one of her senior art projects. Here are the before:

Spring Fair 2011

Well, I'm back! It was a very busy April and first half of May. The Clay Alliance Spring Pottery Fair was on May 7th and it was a great success. I am slowly getting back into the groove of making pots. Now, it would be great if my wheel would co-operate! Anyway, I would like to share some photos of work in progress.

Diva challenge #17

I am the diva challenge #17 is 15 minutes to fame! I am new to tangling so I didn't find this as difficult as many others did, because I only know a few of the patterns. So here are my 2 tries.

Clay Alliance Spring Pottery Fair

Well, it's only 4 weeks until my first pottery show of the year! Thankfully my creative nature kicked into high gear this week and I made quite a few pots so far and its only Wednesday. Tomorrow will be glaze day and hopefully some trimming if the mugs are dry enough. Made 3 large platters today also. I'll post pics soon.

Zentangle

I have found a new creative outlet. It's called Zentangle! It is a way of making designs on paper that look very complicated and time consuming, but is very easy and theraputic. Check out zentangle.com for more info.
